Meet Beth Byrne, MD, MPH

Dr. Byrne received her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. She went on to earn her medical degree from UT Health San Antonio as well as her MPH from the UT Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her internship and pediatric training at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern McGaw Medical Center and subsequently served as chief resident. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of medicine working at Christus Children’s. She is the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Christus Children’s.

Dr. Byrne serves as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. In addition to fellowship curricular development and fellow mentoring, she has a passion for using simulation education to augment the clinical rotations of trainees. Her specific research interests in simulation based medical education include assessing clinical reasoning, crisis resources management skills and fostering teamwork using both high and low fidelity simulations.
