Meet Brian Bates, MD

Dr. Brian Bates is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and provides pediatric emergency care at CHRISTUS Children's. In addition, he serves as chief of the division of pediatric sedation. He provides sedation services to help children feel calm or sleepy when undergoing medical procedures that may be painful or frightening. Dr. Bates completed medical school and residency training in pediatrics at UT Health San Antonio. He completed his fellowship training at Harvard Medical School, Boston Children's Hospital in pediatric emergency medicine and toxicology. He is board certified in pediatric emergency medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Bates enjoys photography, travel and woodworking.
