Dr. Eloy R. Martinez Jr. is a board-certified family medicine clinician with fellowship training in primary care sports medicine, serving patients in San Antonio, Texas. A native of South Texas, Dr. Martinez brings a unique perspective shaped by his early career as an athletic trainer before pursuing medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed both his Family Medicine Residency and Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship through CHRISTUS Santa Rosa. His current research examines athlete readiness following concussion recovery and the impact of point-of-care ultrasound education in residency training programs. He has presented on topics including concussion management, upper extremity sports injuries, foot and ankle injuries, cardiovascular screening in athletes, and evidence-based sports medicine interventions. In addition, he serves in leadership roles within the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and contributes to advancing musculoskeletal ultrasound education on a national level.
