Dr. Facundo Fulgueira joins CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic as an accomplished internal medicine physician with extensive experience in primary care and medical leadership, particularly within high-stakes and correctional health care settings.
Dr. Fulgueira completed a Primary Care Psychiatry fellowship and his internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Continuous improvement projects in wound care, diabetes, and psychiatric care underscore his dedication to advancing health care quality. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Fulgueira is recognized for his innovative contributions to patient care and his commitment to health care excellence. He values a compassionate, patient-centered health approach, which has gotten him featured many times in the “Best Doctors” page in San Antonio magazine.
Dr. Fulgueira has led initiatives in utilization management, quality improvement, and the development of policies to meet stringent local and federal standards. He also collaborated on protocols to limit COVID-19 exposure risks in close-contact settings and introduced patient care teams to streamline care access. His career includes roles as an urgent care provider and primary care physician, consistently meeting performance metrics and maintaining high standards of patient care.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Fulgueira loves hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

I really appreciate when the Doctors take their time and listen to the patients concerns and feelings. I dont when they are in rush and leave you with their assistant that dont really know what to do with you. Patients dont have the confidence and trust to tell theirs stories to different assistant every time they go and see a Doctor.
