Meet Gustavo Charria Ortiz, MD
Dr. Gustavo Charria-Ortiz, MD, began his career as a primary care physician in his native country of Colombia. His interest in the neurosciences led him to seek training opportunities that took him to the Netherlands as an observer and researcher at the Catholic University of Nijmegen. In 1993, he completed his general pediatrics residency and a fellowship in pediatric neurology in New York. He completed an additional fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda.
As an associate professor with Baylor College of Medicine, he focuses his practice on the study, evaluation and treatment of children with epilepsy. In addition, he has extensive experience in the field of neurogenetics and neurometabolic disorders. He serves as an inpatient general neurologist and cares for a wide variety of children with neurological and developmental disorders in the outpatient clinical setting.
