CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic board-certified neurological surgeon Ian Angel, M.D., is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive patient care. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Angel specializes in spinal neurosurgery and neurological care. Dr. Angel’s areas of expertise include robotic spine surgery, spine cord stimulators, carpal tunnel, and microdiscectomy.
Dr. Angel earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin, TX, and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical School, Houston, TX. He completed a one-year internship at LSU General Surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA, and his residency with LSU Neurosurgery at Charity Hospital and Ochsner Hospital, New Orleans, LA.
He has served as a member of the following: the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Angel has been named the “Best Neurosurgeon” by the Beaumont Enterprise.
Dr. Angel’s patient care philosophy is to put the patient first as one of his family members and explain the diagnosis and potential surgery in layman’s terms, with surgery as a last resort.
