Jennifer Guillen, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is part of our highly trained primary care team at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in San Marcos, Texas. Jennifer is a motivated and organized family nurse practitioner with a passion for providing quality healthcare to patients. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (FNP) from The University of Texas at Arlington, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Galen College of Nursing, San Antonio, Texas. Jennifer is currently pursuing a post-master's certificate in Emergency/Trauma Nurse Practitioner from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, with expected graduation in May 2023.

With 8 years of experience as a registered nurse, primarily in emergently ill and injured patients as an ED nurse, stroke program coordinator, phone triage nurse, and disaster relief volunteer, Jennifer is a well-rounded healthcare professional. Jennifer has completed 869 hours of clinical rotations in primary care, women’s health, geriatrics, and pediatrics, as well as 60 hours of clinical rotations in emergency care.

During her clinical practicum, Jennifer provided holistic and evidence-based care to diverse populations, managing complex chronic conditions, and providing episodic care. She is skilled in gathering detailed patient histories and performing comprehensive physical examinations for wellness visits, chronic care management, and acute conditions. She also ordered and reviewed results of diagnostic tests including imaging tests, EKGs, and laboratory results, correlating findings with clinical presentation. Jennifer diagnosed, prescribed treatment, and monitored efficacy for a variety of illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and various infectious processes.

Jennifer is passionate about incorporating health education and preventative services into visits to promote the health and wellness of patients based on age, gender, history, and relevant risk factors. She is a dedicated and compassionate healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional care to patients.
