Meet Julia Garcia, DNP

Julia Garcia is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in developmental-behavioral pediatrics. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she completed the Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. She has trained and worked at the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA, and MUSC Children’s Hospital in Charleston, SC, caring for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and complex behavioral and psychological conditions. Julia has published research on pediatric obesity care, ADHD, anxiety, and global pediatric workforce priorities, and she serves as an Emerging Leader Fellow with the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. A Santa Fe native, she is committed to serving New Mexico’s children and families. Outside of medicine, she enjoys skiing, surfing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
