Dr. Dean was born in Arkansas and raised in Texas. He attended Redwater High School where he graduated as Valedictorian. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University summa cum laude as Valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA. He attended medical school at the University of TexasHealth Sciences Center at San Antonio where he graduated in the top half of his class.
Dr. Dean completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where he received awards for outstanding intern, outstanding junior resident, and outstanding chief resident.
Upon completing his residency training in 1996, he joined SETSA and has been happily in Beaumont ever since. Dr. Dean is Board-Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
