Meet Nathaniel Brown, MD

Dr. Nathaniel Brown brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and academic insight to his role in anesthesiology. He earned his BS in Chemistry from the University of Colorado Denver, followed by an MD and a PhD in Health Care Ethics from Saint Louis University. He completed his residency and fellowship in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the University of Colorado.

Before joining CHRISTUS St. Vincent in Santa Fe, Dr. Brown practiced for many years in the VA healthcare system, where he developed a deep commitment to patient-centered care. His approach emphasizes safety, comfort, and clear communication throughout every stage of anesthesia.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Brown is passionate about creative and outdoor pursuits. He enjoys writing poetry, singing, mountaineering, and exploring the art of fermentation. His work has been published in journals such as Academic Medicine, Journal of Surgical Education, Rust & Moth, St. Katherine Review, and Anesthesiology.
