About

Russell Stanley, D.O., is part of the exemplary team of clinicians at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Texarkana, Texas. Dr. Stanley is an OB/GYN specializing in all aspects of women's health. As a urogynecologist, he also maintains a special interest in the advanced treatment of female pelvic floor disorders and other conditions of the female pelvic area.

Dr. Stanley grew up in Abilene, Texas, and spent most of his life in Texas, except for three years completing his fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Subsequently, he returned to Abilene and earned a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry from Hardin-Simmons University while serving as a Baptist pastor in a rural church.

Dr. Stanley is married to his high school sweetheart, and they have six children (two sets of twins). He has done Baptist pastoral ministry intermittently for 20 years, intermixed with his medical training. In 2010, Dr. Stanley felt a calling from the Lord to go back to medicine so that he could be a part of the extension of His Hand and His Healing Ministry in the world.

Dr. Stanley attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. Here, he felt very privileged to be an Osteopathic Physician because the Osteopathic Philosophy of Medicine focuses on the important relationship between structure and function and emphasizes caring for the whole patient, including body, mind, and spirit. While in osteopathic medical school, he felt a call to pursue women’s health and pursued an OB/GYN residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. While at Texas Tech, he became very passionate about urogynecology and decided to subspecialize in this area of women’s health.

Before coming to CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, Dr. Stanley completed a three-year fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In this fellowship, he learned how to take care of the full scope of pelvic floor disorders for women. During this fellowship, he learned how to integrate the concepts of structure and function as an osteopathic physician. By surgically repairing pelvic organ prolapse robotically or through a transvaginal surgical approach, he can restore normal anatomy and improve function for women. As a urogynecologist, he offers surgical and non-surgical approaches to pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, recurrent urinary tract infections, abnormal uterine bleeding, and other general gynecologic conditions.

Dr. Stanley looks forward to serving the Texarkana community and region with this subspecialty and helping women improve their quality of life.
