Meet Samer Tawakkol, MD

Samer Tawakkol, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, specializing in total joint replacement. He brings more than two decades of experience and advanced fellowship training in joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Tawakkol earned his Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, followed by his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and went on to pursue fellowship training at the University of Southern California and Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center under the mentorship of Dr. Lawrence D. Dorr.

He has practiced across multiple states and most recently led the joint replacement program at Yuma Regional Medical Center before relocating to Beaumont, Texas.

Dr. Tawakkol is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, holds active licenses in Texas, Arizona, and California, and is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He is especially passionate about research in revision surgery and improving outcomes for joint replacement patients.
