Meet Shivani Gaitonde, MD

Shivani Gaitonde, MD, is a dedicated urologist who brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to every visit at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Texarkana. She is trained in medical and surgical treatments for a wide spectrum of urologic conditions, including male and female incontinence, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie disease, pelvic organ prolapse, kidney stones, urethral stricture disease, and urologic cancers (i.e. kidney, prostate, bladder, testicular). Her primary clinical interests are minimally invasive robotic and endoscopic surgery, female urology, and urologic cancer management.

Dr. Gaitonde grew up in San Antonio, Texas and completed her undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Science and Psychology at Texas A&M University. Thereafter she attended medical school and completed her surgical residency in Urology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. As a South Texas native, she enjoys hiking at local state and national parks with her husband, running half-marathons, and practicing yoga and Pilates.

With years of experience in both adult and pediatric urology, Dr. Gaitonde is known for her gentle bedside manner and her ability to explain complex conditions in simple, clear language. She believes in providing a safe and welcoming practice so patients feel empowered to discuss sensitive conditions affecting their life and wants to help patients make treatment decisions that are right for them using a holistic and evidence-based approach.
