Meet Yiressy Pina, MD

Dr. Yiressy Pina is originally from San Pedro, Honduras, and knew early on she wanted to care for children after her own experiences with illness and the compassionate doctors who took care of her. She completed medical school in San Antonio and developed a strong connection to the South Texas community. As a pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Pina cares for children with autoimmune conditions like lupus and Sjogren's syndrome. In addition, she diagnoses and treats conditions including arthritis, joint swelling, proteinuria, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, JIA, SLE, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, inflammation, poisitive ANA and Raynaud's syndrome.

She is especially passionate about supporting famlies from underserved communities. She has a strong interest in improving health literacy which can lead to better outcomes for her paitents. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and cookouts with her family.
