Message from the System Director, Research & Academics
Headquartered in Dallas Texas, CHRISTUS Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit system made up of more than 600 centers, including long-term care facilities, community hospitals, walk-in clinics, and health ministries. As a growing international community of 45,000 associates (including 15,000 physicians) across 60 cities within United States, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia, it is ranked among the top 10 Catholic Healthcare Systems. Even though the history of CHRISTUS Health’s three Sponsoring Congregations dates back to 1866, we regard ‘Research’ as an important part of modern health care. As such, CHRISTUS Health fosters and supports scientifically meritorious and collaborative research that may benefit our patients, academic partners, and communities.
Thank you for your interest in the CHRISTUS Institute for Innovation & Advanced Clinical Care (CIIACC) at CHRISTUS Health. While in a continuous state of evolution and refinement, the CIIACC is a comprehensive centralized body that provides strategy, services, and support for research across the Health System. The CIIACC team is not only focused on shaping the research conducted at CHRISTUS Health, but also committed to providing excellent research training to the next generation of physician scientists, nurses, and allied health professionals. Our vital work allows us to bring, otherwise unavailable, innovative and advanced clinical care options to the patients, closer to their homes and families, in the many communities we serve. We aim to make significant contributions for improving human health through science, scholarship, discovery, and innovation. During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our researchers our doubling down on COVID-19 research by offering a variety of treatment trial options, biospecimen research donation opportunities, and registry participation choices. The scientific breakthroughs from our life-saving research work hold strong potential to protect our patients, their families, and global communities.
To foster and promote clinical research opportunities and advanced clinical care options in the most efficient and patient-centered manner, our research enterprise is organized into the following four service arms:
The CIIACC team is comprised of the most passionate, experienced, educated, and compassionate associates and leaders. These diverse associates, in turn, allow patients with more diverse backgrounds to consider meaningful and informed participation in research. We would not have been able to make ongoing progress in this life-saving work without our volunteer research participants, Institutional Review Board members, executive leadership, research sponsors, collaborators, and partner organizations. We thank them all for their ongoing support and trust in our work. It is exhilarating and rewarding to be part of CIIACC’s growth vision, pursuit for excellence, performance trajectory, and community impact.
We invite interested researchers, physicians, patients, members of our community, and collaborators from industry, academia, and government sectors to learn more about us on our website and provide us with an opportunity to serve you.
