CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center offers a variety of educational opportunities to new families, where everyone can learn what to expect and how to help with the new baby.

2024 Prenatal Lactation Class

The Prenatal Lactation Class is designed to provide expectant parents with comprehensive information and support in preparing for breastfeeding. In this class, you will learn about the benefits of breastfeeding, proper latch and positioning techniques, common challenges and how to overcome them, breast milk production and storage, and the importance of skin-to-skin contact. The class will also cover topics such as breastfeeding in public, returning to work while breastfeeding, and introducing solid foods. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with the instructor and other participants. By the end of the class, you will feel confident and well-prepared to begin your breastfeeding journey.
