Hello and welcome to our page! I am proud to say I was born and raised here in San Antonio, Texas (Go Spurs Go!)! My parents are also from San Antonio, and I am the oldest of two with a younger brother. I am lucky enough to have basically my entire supportive amazing family within the area!
When I was eighteen, I decided to be adventurous and travel out of state for college with the hope to return one day and serve my community in the field of medicine. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago where I met my awesome and supportive husband, Vlad, in chemistry lab. During college I became an EMT-B, and after I graduated I took time to return to San Antonio and work in an Emergency Department for experience. I had the pleasure of working with great mentors, and expanded my love for medicine. My interest in under-served medicine then sent me to the Appalachian region for medical school in Blacksburg, Virginia where I graduated from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
When I was in my third year of medical school, it became clear to me that I enjoyed the excitement of full spectrum medicine in combination with patient continuity. This led me to Family Medicine. I was drawn to the privilege of getting to care for patients of all ages, and the hope that I can one day provide people with both full-scope Family Medicine and a strong physician-patient relationship.
When it came time to find a residency program, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa was instantly on my list, because of its respected reputation and presence in the San Antonio community. When I did a rotation at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa as a fourth year medical student, I knew this program was the right one for me! Straightaway, I felt welcome and like a member of the team. The residents, faculty, and staff were so supportive of one another during my rotation, and at that point I knew it was the optimal environment for productive learning and growth. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa has a tight knit family environment where everyone works hard and helps each other in providing patients with the best possible care. I’m so happy that I have received the opportunity to come home and train in this excellent program while giving back to my community.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs Ollie and Lilly, as well as my family. I love to read, spin cycle, and explore San Antonio (especially the amazing food!). I hope to continue to practice Family Medicine here in San Antonio after residency, to be an advocate for under-served communities, and to give back to the city that raised me!
