Lake Charles, Louisiana - Continuing with our strong commitment to the Lake Charles health care community, CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana announced new additions to its leadership structure in two vital executive roles. Jane Rawls has been named Chief Nursing Officer for CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana and David Boudreaux has been named Administrator of CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital.
Jane Rawls joined the Executive Leadership team back in October as the interim CNO. She brings more than 36 years of nursing experience; of which, 27 years were dedicated to the CHRISTUS ministry in Southeast Texas. Since joining the CHRISTUS Ochsner team, Rawl’s motivation and leadership continue to drive operational improvements for the health system, including: standardizing staffing ratios and nursing across the two hospital campuses, partnering with human resources on recruitment and retention efforts, appointing a full-time director of nursing for CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital and developing a collaborative partnership with McNeese State University’s Nursing Department & SOWELA Nursing School.
During her CHRISTUS tenure, Rawls has served in numerous leadership roles in ER, Critical Care, and Surgical Telemetry, as well as Regional Director of Emergency Services, Regional Chief Nursing Executive and Chief Nursing Officer at CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial and CHRISTUS St. Mary Hospital. She also played an integral part in the education and standardization of Labor Management processes for all ministries within CHRISTUS Health.
“I look forward to my next chapter in leadership while working in partnership with the nurses of CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana and growing together as a community, said Jane Rawls, R.N., B.S.N., M.Ed., Chief Nursing Officer, CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana. “One of my favorite quotes by JC Maxwell says ‘Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.’ I hope to instill a common vision of compassionate, quality care, continuing the mission of the Sisters to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”
After serving in an interim role for nearly two years, David Boudreaux has officially been named Administrator of CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital, overseeing day-to-day operations at the hospital. Boudreaux continues to make positive change and move the facility and Associates forward; leading through two major hurricanes and the closure and re-opening of services. Boudreaux is highly respected by medical staff and Associates. Boudreaux is focused on bringing his vision for CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital to fruition.
Boudreaux joined CHRISTUS in 1983 as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. In 1985, he began managing the Radiology Department. During his tenure, he obtained progressive experience in acute and non-acute management while directing multiple departments including Laboratory, Pharmacy, Central Supply and Diabetic Management. In 2002, South Ryan MRI was formed under his leadership, a Joint Venture partnership with Radiology Associates of Southwest Louisiana. In 2011, he took an additional leadership role with the cancer center guiding the team through three successful accreditations. Then in 2018, Boudreaux worked with the Lake Area Medical Staff to establish the Wellness, Screening and Genetics program; the only one of its kind in Southwestern Louisiana.
“I am extremely excited to take on this responsibility. CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital is well respected in the community; it is positioned to lead the way with innovative health care,” said David Boudreaux, B.S.R.T., C.N.M.T., Administrator, CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital. “I’m so proud to lead this amazing team of health care professionals. Because of their great work and the resources being provided by CHRISTUS Health and Ochsner, I know CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area will remain the best place for Women’s Services for years to come.”
The leadership of Rawls and Boudreaux is vital to CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana in progression of repairing and growing the ministry in order to fulfill the CHRISTUS mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to Southwestern Louisiana.
