CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi South has earned a Level IV Maternal Designation, the highest level of care designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Birthing Services include:

  • OB Hospitalist services: The region’s only program with board certified OB physicians available in house 24/7 to provide consistent to patients in the hospital, as well as patients arriving with an obstetrical emergency.
  • Specialists in OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine to care for women with high-risk pregnancies
  • Texas Ten Step designation supporting the importance of breastfeeding
  • March of Dimes recognition in reducing elective inductions before 39-week’s gestation

  • Private birthing suites along with hospital tours, childbirth classes and other educational resources to help you prepare for a comfortable birth experience

  • Hospital tours to familiarize the patient with maternal and newborn departments

  • Educational classes and resources that help prepare for a comfortable birthing experience

  • Ultrasound including 3D and 4D imaging

  • Level IV Maternal Designation supports the care of high risk pregnancies.

  • Level III NICU

A range of birthing classes are available to expectant mothers and their partners at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi – South. All classes are free to mom’s delivering at a CHRISTUS Spohn facility, call 1-855-557-7646 to register. Learn about the classes offered.
