Meet Heidimae Martin, PA-C

Heidimae Martin is a physician assistant at CHRISTUS Health in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She earned three degrees from the University of New Mexico, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies, graduating in 2024. Before joining CHRISTUS Health, she practiced Orthopedics at Orthopedic Associates P.A. in Farmington, New Mexico, where she worked alongside orthopedic surgeons at San Juan Regional Medical Center. She brings that hands-on surgical experience and her entirely New Mexico–based training to her role at CHRISTUS Health.

Martin practices as a physician assistant at CHRISTUS Health in Santa Fe. In her prior orthopedic role in Farmington, she worked alongside orthopedic surgeons in a clinic and surgical setting. Physician assistants in surgery commonly provide pre-operative evaluations, post-surgical follow-up, wound/drain/ostomy management, and assistance in the operating room. Her dual undergraduate background in biology and psychology gives her a foundation in both the biological science of medicine and the patient communication skills needed to help people understand their condition, treatment options, and recovery plans.
