CHRISTUS Health Sulphur Springs has reached a milestone in advancing surgical care with the completion of its first da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical procedure, performed by urologic oncologist Dr. Randy Vince on Oct. 20.

The addition of the da Vinci surgical system allows Vince to perform advanced procedures not previously available at the hospital, expanding access to specialized surgical care for patients in Sulphur Springs and surrounding communities.

“This is an exciting step forward in advancing surgical care and enhancing the quality of care we provide to our patients here in Sulphur Springs,” Vince said. “Having the da Vinci system allows us to bring advanced surgical techniques to our patients closer to home. This technology gives us additional capabilities to care for patients who may otherwise need to travel outside their community for certain procedures.”

The da Vinci system allows surgeons to operate using robotic-assisted instruments and a high-definition, three-dimensional view of the surgical area. The technology supports precise movements and enhanced visualization, helping surgeons perform complex procedures through small incisions when appropriate.

The milestone reflects CHRISTUS Health Sulphur Springs’ continued commitment to investing in advanced technology, expanding specialty services and improving access to high-quality care throughout Northeast Texas.

By bringing innovative surgical capabilities to the region, patients have access to the personal, specialized care they need, close to home.
