Meet Ashley Martinez, MD

Ashley Martinez, MD, was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. Having completed combined training in general pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry, she is passionate about increasing access to pediatric mental health services by integrating mental health services into the primary care setting. She partners with her young patients and their families to promote healthy physical and emotional development. Her professional interests include helping children cope with chronic physical illness. 

Dr. Martinez is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her areas of expertise include autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, self-harm, suicide, drug and alcohol issues, learning disabilities, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), psychotherapy and medication management. 

Dr. Martinez enjoys working with medical students and residents who are interested in pediatric primary care and child psychiatry. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, knitting, trying new restaurants, reading and Zumba.
