What You Can Expect from Care with Dr. Ewing
Dr. Ewing’s care style is defined by a "confidence and calm" approach. He believes that a well-educated patient is more empowered, and he takes the time to "drill down" into the specifics of a diagnosis so patients understand the "why" behind their treatment plan. You can expect:
- A "Team-Based" Approach: Care aligned with the highest hospital safety and quality benchmarks.
- Technological Precision: A preference for robotic and laparoscopic tools to support faster mobility and minimal scarring.
- Urgent Care Mastery: Extensive experience in emergency surgical situations, honed during training at a Level I Trauma Center.

- Cosmetically Minded: Small things matter, down to where we can hide the incision to how we control postoperative pain.
Advanced Surgical Innovation
Dr. Ewing is at the forefront of surgical technology in South Texas. His designation as a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery signifies that he has met rigorous, independent standards for surgical volume and patient outcomes. By utilizing the da Vinci® Surgical System, he performs complex procedures through tiny incisions, which often result in:
- Reduced reliance on opioid pain medications.
- A quicker return to work and daily activities.
- Lower risk of surgical site infections.
- Smaller incisions and lower length of stay in the hospital
