Meet Parth Mehta, MD

Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Parth Mehta spent many summers in India, integrating both cultures into his life. From a young age, he aspired to become a doctor. During his pediatric residency training, he developed a passion for treating children with cancer and blood disorders. He finds the specialty's science and medicine fascinating but says his greatest joy comes from serving families in need.

As the first pediatric oncologist in Botswana, he pioneered the global program at Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Center, bringing essential expertise to families in need—an experience he deeply cherishes.

As CHRISTUS Children's division chief of pediatric hematology/oncology, he is passionately dedicated to advancing patient care and considers it a privilege to serve families in our region. His goal is to develop and sustain world-class cancer and blood disorder programs.

Dr. Mehta's areas of expertise include global oncology, HIV-related malignancies, hemostasis/thrombosis and leukemia.

In his free time, he enjoys meditation, travel, walking, running, playing drums, telling dad jokes and watching movies.
