Hello! My name is David and I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, along with seven of my nine siblings and parents! I then ended up staying in KC for my medical school career, attending the six year combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. My wife, Kathryn, and I have been happily married for two and a half years and have a very playful, and sometimes ornery, dog named Oliver. I also have an identical twin brother who is now a Pharm D and lives in Kansas City with his wife and two children.
It wasn’t until the last year and a half of med school that I found my niche in Family Medicine. It was everything that I had imagined becoming a physician would be growing up, embodied in a singular yet amazingly diverse specialty! It was soon after that I attended my first AAFP National Family Medicine Conference in KC, where I thankfully would first come to learn about CHRISTUS and their incredible Family Medicine program. I could tell all the staff and residents who I encountered were genuine and sincere in their love for working at CHRISTUS, for Family Medicine, and for helping others. I knew I had to apply here and was so happy to be granted an interview and now even more so to officially be a part of the CHRISTUS family! I’m very excited and honored to be among such intelligent and passionate faculty members and fellow residents, all who share a great love and excitement for Family Medicine!
My Catholic Faith is something that is extremely important to me and is something that plays a significant role in shaping who I am. In fact, it makes me even more excited to be joining CHRISTUS! I hope to truly reflect Christ in my work as a physician in helping others, particularly in rural and under-served communities after my residency is complete. My wife and I enjoy playing with our dog, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. We couldn’t be more excited to make San Antonio our new home for these next three years and are looking forward to becoming a part of the CHRISTUS Family!
