The new PGY-1 residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa - Westover Hills is designed to provide a wide range of clinical experiences with a focus on inpatient acute care in a community hospital setting. The resident will work both independently and with multi-disciplinary teams to develop strong clinical and leadership skills. The goal of the residency program is to develop the clinician to have well-rounded pharmacy practice knowledge in order to practice independently in a hospital setting for a variety of patient populations and/or for prerequisite training for a PGY-2 residency program.
Residents have eight core rotations and three advanced core electives. Pharmacy staffing and research will occur longitudinally throughout the resident’s PGY-1 year. Each rotation is four weeks.
