Emergency Medicine Fellowship
The CHRISTUS Health Primary Care Emergency Medicine Fellowship is a 12 month program located at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, in Texarkana, Texas. The emergency department at CHRISTUS St. Michael is the busiest in the area, with over 60,000 patient visits per year, offering rich opportunity for training in emergency medicine. Fellows will work side by side with board certified faculty throughout the program year in order to gain procedural experience, increase knowledge, and develop skills to prepare for board certification in emergency medicine.
The program is approved by the Texas Medical Board, as well as the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS). Under the oversight of ABPS, the American Academy of Emergency Physicians (AAEP) is the specialty arm by which the program is recognized. Graduates of the Fellowship are eligible to sit for board certification through ABPS/AAEP in Emergency Medicine.
