How to Become a Provider
When you join the CHRISTUS Health Network, you become part of an extensive network of providers dedicated to high-quality health care. Our network includes more than 800 providers.
Provider Benefits
Excellent provider relations: Our local provider relations representatives are available to help you navigate our system. They can even visit your office to assist with claims issues or provide education. We also have a medical director who oversees credentialing and medical management.
Comprehensive coverage: Our members include many large, local and often self-funded employer groups, from school districts to public and private businesses.
Rapid claims processing: We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround for processing claims.
Membership to the CHRISTUS Health: As a member of our health network, you join a system of hospitals and providers that South Texas residents have come to know and trust for excellent health care.
Provider Requirements
We welcome both physicians and non-physician practitioners to join our network.
Physicians must:
- Have unrestricted, active, provisional or affiliated network staff membership at one of our CHRISTUS Health participating hospitals.
- Hold a current, unrestricted Texas medical license as defined by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Practice within the CHRISTUS Health service area.
Non-physician practitioners must:
- Hold a current, unrestricted Texas license as defined by their specialty and/or by the applicable state licensing authority.
- Have a master’s degree or higher from an accredited university or college, if required.
- Practice within the CHRISTUS Health service area.
- Meet any other specific criteria required for specialty area.
