Liposuction

Liposuction removes excess fat deposits and improves your body’s contours and proportion. It is a very effective contouring technique for many areas of the body, including upper and lower abdomen, flanks, outer thighs, hips, inner knees, and on the back. Liposuction is a body sculpting procedure, it’s not for weight loss. This procedure is ideal for someone with a healthy lifestyle and a stable weight.

As a person gains weight, fat cells increase in size and volume. Liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in the treated area. The resulting contour changes are generally permanent — as long as your weight remains stable. After liposuction, the skin molds itself to the new contours. If you have good skin tone and elasticity, the skin is likely to appear smooth. If your skin is thin with poor elasticity, however, the skin in the treated areas may appear loose and additional procedures may be recommended.

Liposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a breast reduction or a tummy tuck.
