Outpatient Therapy

Through patented NASA air pressure technology, the Anti-Gravity Treadmill (Alter-G) reduces the stress on your body and gives you a fall-safe way to walk or even jog. The benefits of reducing the pull of gravity while you exercise include: walk or jog without stress and strain on your joints, improve your balance and control without fear of falling, build strength and coordination more easily, walk farther and faster than you normally can, and maintain an independent and healthy lifestyle.

Hand therapists and specialists help patients who have arthritis, traumatic hand injuries, carpal tunnel, tendon repairs, fractures, nerve pain, and upper extremity dysfunction. They tailor patient education, as well as custom orthosis fabrication and fitting, to help maximize each patient’s recovery.

The goal of therapy for inpatients and outpatients is maximum recovery as quickly as possible. With preoperative education classes, taught by our Joint Replacement Center Program Director, our patients are well-prepared for their inpatient and outpatient therapy.

Patients with neurological deficits, such as those caused by stroke or brain injury, begin rehabilitation while still hospitalized and often continue as outpatients to reach their maximum recovery.

The physical therapy and rehabilitation team offers advanced treatment for many acute and chronic orthopedic conditions of the extremities and spine for all ages. Recognizing the importance of injury prevention, the team also provides athletes with programs designed to minimize risk of injury and optimize performance. Other certificates, skills and services our physical therapists provide include: certified functional movement assessments, dry needling, cupping, spinal and peripheral joint mobilization, and are physicians of physical therapy, McKenzie-trained, as well as certified athletic trainers.

Pediatric therapy focuses on a variety of skills from newborn to age 18, including fine motor, feeding due to oral aversion, visual perceptual skills as well as a full range of complex congenital, developmental and orthopedic conditions. Our team also works closely with children and their families to help treat Sensory Processing Disorder. Common diagnoses that benefit from pediatric therapy include developmental delays, autism, dysgraphia, cerebral palsy, and many more.

The outpatient physical therapy facility offers heated indoor pool therapy, with individualized exercise programs tailored to infants and beyond. Resisted exercise in a supported environment helps patients with low exercise tolerance due to weakness, pain or other medical conditions. Pool therapy is also effective in helping those with decreased balance to gain strength and endurance.

Our team of speech language pathologists is trained to treat patients with the following health conditions: traumatic brain injury, stroke, cognitive impairments, Aphasia, Dysarthria, Dysphagia, feeding impairments, Apraxia, developmental delays, speech and language impairments, fluency, and auditory processing. Our speech therapists are Vital Stim Certified and trained in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT).
