Common Types of Leukemia

Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) 

Acute lymphocytic leukemia is the most common type of leukemia in young adults and adults.

Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) 

Acute myelogenous leukemia is most common in adults and can occur in children as well.

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) 

This type of cancer is the most common chronic leukemia in adults where you may feel healthy without needing treatment.

Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) 

Chronic myelogenous leukemia affects adults and children where being asymptomatic for months or years is common before entering a phase where leukemia cells grow more rapidly.

Diagnosis

Treatments 

Due to their high propensity to circulate throughout the body, the primary treatment for most of these cancers is chemotherapy. However, other treatments may include biologic therapy, radiation therapy, external beam irradiation.
