Do I Qualify for Direct Access Colonoscopy?
To determine if you qualify for a Direct Access Colonoscopy, please review the following criteria:

You are between 45 and 75 years old.

You do not have a personal history of colorectal cancer, polyps, or inflammatory bowel disease

You do not have first-degree relatives (parent, sibling, or child) with colorectal cancer or polyps.

If you've had a colonoscopy before and no polyps were found, you may qualify. However, if polyps were removed during a past colonoscopy, a consultation is recommended.

Your last colonoscopy was over 10 years ago.

You do not have health conditions such as heart, lung, liver, or kidney conditions, or high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

You have not been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, do not have bleeding problems, and are not taking iron supplements.

You have not had recent heart or lung surgery and do not have an artificial heart valve, stents, a pacemaker, or an implanted defibrillator.
- You are not taking blood thinners (anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs such as Coumadin, Plavix, Aggrenox, Lovenox, etc.).

You do not have sleep apnea or do not use a CPAP machine while sleeping.

You have not experienced unexplained weight loss or weight gain.
