We are committed to promoting breastfeeding as the primary source of infant nutrition. We are a state-certified Mother-Friendly Worksite because we accommodate employees who are breastfeeding.

Texas Mother-Friendly Worksite
We are recognized by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Mother-Friendly Worksite. To receive this designation, a place of business must introduce a written policy to support employed mothers by doing the following:
• Offering flexible work schedules to provide time for expression of milk
• Providing an accessible location allowing privacy
• Providing access to a nearby clean and safe water source and a sink for washing hands and rinsing out any breast-pump equipment
• Providing access to hygienic storage alternatives for the mother to store her breast milk
National Breastfeeding Month Proclamation
In partnership with the Texas Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC), the City of San Marcos issued a proclamation on July 31, 2012 to recognize National Breastfeeding Month locally, which is observed in August.
Mothers Milk Bank Partnership
There are times when a mother is unable to produce enough milk for her infant, and doctors may prescribe donor human milk. Healthy lactating mothers of infants under one year old are eligible to be screened as human milk donors.
In 2011, CTMC partnered with the Mothers Milk Bank at Austin, becoming the only Certified Milk Depot in Hays County that provides a local drop-off location for donor breast milk that helps infants grow and thrive. Since then, the hospital has donated thousands of ounces of donor milk to babies in need.
