Services and Treatments
There are a number of treatment options available depending on the type, location, and severity of your cancer, as well as other variables. No single treatment will work for all types of cancer. At the CHRISTUS Health, our cancer physicians specialize in a range of both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Our multidisciplinary team approach means that our team of specialists works together to coordinate a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.
Clinical trials are important in developing new treatments to fight cancer and are approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA.) Many of today's standard cancer treatments that are used by medical experts are based on the results of previous clinical trials.
Cancer Support Groups
Cancer Support Groups
Each cancer patient or survivor has had his or her own unique experience. A support group can help you cope with the various stages of the cancer process. According to studies, cancer support groups can boost self-esteem, reduce depression and anxiety and improve family and friend relationships.
People with cancer face not only physical and medical challenges, but also emotional reactions to their disease. Connecting with other cancer patients and survivors can be a strong source of comfort and emotional support. The atmosphere in our support group may help you share feelings and experiences related to cancer, which can help reduce the stress and fear that are so common. Support from our medical team as well as others in the support group can help improve your quality of life by helping you feel less isolated and stressed. Our support group is also an excellent place to gather more information about current treatments from our health professionals.
