Curriculum

While providing care to the under-served of the Coastal Bend, our residents learn through a well-balanced curriculum of rotational and longitudinal experiences. Our inpatient services are particularly strong in the care of the complex medical patient on the floor and ICU settings. Interested residents learn surgical obstetrics from the core faculty of Family Physicians and Obstetricians.

The Family Medicine Academic Center provides a medical home to learn the art of excellent patient care. With an emphasis on continuity, our residents are exposed to a wide variety of outpatient conditions including prenatal care, geriatrics and outpatient procedures.

Driscoll Children’s Hospital serves as a training site for inpatient and emergency room pediatric experiences. Community preceptors round out the curriculum by lending their expertise and with a generous allowance of elective time you can tailor your education to fit your personal goals.
