Kathleen Soch, MD Kathleen Soch, MD
Geriatrics Fellowship Director
Dr. Kathleen Soch has been program director since its start in 2006. She is board certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Soch loves academic medicine, in particular working with residents from all over the country and the world. Her private practice includes long-term care, full-spectrum Family Medicine, Geriatric consults, hospital, and home care.


Scot Ireton, MD
Associate Program Director
Our associate program director, Dr. Scot Ireton is board certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative Care. His leadership role as a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care makes Dr. Ireton an ideal preceptor at Windsor Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care, a key site for fellow and resident training.


Yvonne Hinojosa, MD
Director of CHRISTUS Spohn Palliative Care
Dr. Hinojosa not only works as program director of the CHRISTUS Health/Texas A&M University School of Medicine – Family Medicine Residency, she is also the director of the hospital system palliative care services. The fellow spends at least one month rotating on this service, learning how to care for chronically ill patients as they make complex choices at the end of life. A key component of this rotation is leading family conferences, guiding them in critical and difficult decision making.
