Bereavement Support During a Time of Loss

Grief is a normal and natural reaction to a loss of any kind, such as the death of a loved one. It is a physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological response. This can be overwhelming and can cause a range of emotions.

We recognize the death of your loved one is a profound loss. Although it is a universal experience, no two people grieve the same, even in the same family. There is no simple or correct way to go through the grieving process.

While there is no timeframe for feeling better, people go through grief differently and at their own pace. For some, traveling through this journey may be easier with professional guidance and support. Professionals can help you process your feelings through counseling or advise you on medications that might help.

Whether you prefer to seek help online, by phone, in one-on-one counseling, or through direct contact with people who share similar losses, CHRISTUS Children’s has developed these resources to help you find the support, comfort, and information you need throughout your journey.

If you need help working through your grief, contact your primary care provider or local clergy for additional resources. A 24-hour crisis hotline is available by dialing 988.
