After the Bell
When class is dismissed, the work being done by CHRISTUS Cabrini School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) providers continues. These dedicated individuals may help children access more advanced care, or they find an outside counselor who can help students continue therapy year-round.
“We can only be here during school hours and when school is in session, but the care SBHC provide extends far past that,” says JoAnn Derbonne, director of school-based health for CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. “Our direct connection to CHRISTUS Cabrini allows us to tap into additional services, make smart referrals and find ways to help families access the care children need.”
The CHRISTUS Cabrini Foundation is a nonprofit fundraising foundation that supports the hospital, the Children's Miracle Network and the Cabrini School-Based Health Centers. For more information or to donate call 318-448-6580.
Supported by the Children’s Miracle Network, CHRISTUS Cabrini Pediatric Therapy Center’s team of occupational, physical and speech therapists use a patient- and family-centered approach to help
